Keeping up with Google – Instant Preview
Well last week brought a new feature to Google. You’ll probably have noticed it. I certainly did when I was searching for a site on Wednesday. I first wondered if my account was chosen as a test for this new feature, but it seems every search now gets a preview. Personally I think its great. Having a quick view of the site before you go to it.
Firstly its nice to see if that’s the site you wanted (if you can recognise the mini thumbnail). Secondly I am drawn to nicely designed sites and this is a quick way of avoiding the poor ones.
An interesting blog from Hubspot last week provides some ideas on how to make the most of your preview.
This should make you ask “How does my site look in miniture?”. Well, take a peek. If you like what you see then you have to hope others do too. If you don’t, then why not think about a site update or a refresh heading into 2011.
